* A model agency that pressures you to take nude photos and insist you do so may be a scam and a predator - be careful. If you do not want to take nude photos don’t, trust your instincts.

* Avoid high-pressure sales tactics. Never sign a document without reading and understanding it first. Take the time to have an attorney or family members review the contract.

* An interested model agency will never ask you for money. They will never suggest to you that you need to spend money to make money.

* Get referrals and ask for the names, addresses and phone numbers of models and actors who are currently with the agency. See if they are happy.

* To avoid being ripped off, aspiring models should look for and attend “open calls”at reputable modeling agencies. Well-known agencies in large cities usually have open calls on a weekly basis.
