Tru Talent Management Tips to Avoid Scams
Do not let your ego or your desire to become an actor of model allow you to fall victim to a scam. Modeling scams are abundant and in every city across the US. Here are some tips provided by TRU Talent Management that can help you avoid scams and rip offs.
* Guarantees are the foundation of many modeling scams. A legitimate model agency or talent agency is not going to guarantee you work or a job.
* A model agency that pressures you to take nude photos and insist you do so may be a scam and a predator - be careful. If you do not want to take nude photos don’t, trust your instincts.
* Avoid high-pressure sales tactics. Never sign a document without reading and understanding it first. Take the time to have an attorney or family members review the contract.
* An interested model agency will never ask you for money. They will never suggest to you that you need to spend money to make money.
* Get referrals and ask for the names, addresses and phone numbers of models and actors who are currently with the agency. See if they are happy.
* To avoid being ripped off, aspiring models should look for and attend “open calls”at reputable modeling agencies. Well-known agencies in large cities usually have open calls on a weekly basis.
